Sylvie Guillem

Just one of the most amazing ballet dancers of all time, here is just a preview of more beautiful pics to come.

look at those feet, look at those lines! She looks as calm and relaxed as possible, you would never imagine she is using every single muscle in her entire body.

peace love and beauty,

Ballet Makeup

Just one quick example of beautiful ballet makeup, worn by the amazing Cynthia Gregory

everything about this picture amazes me

the use of patterns in the far background, with a stark plainness in the featured background. The immense number of details and the use of colors for this photograph is amazing...I want to find out who took this picture, and more of their work.

Has nothing to do with anything. Just plain entertaining.

what makes this picture amazing

It is the stare, it is like you are seeing into a different world. The lighting highlights the fun and fantastical side of the character, and helps personify the essence of this actor.
peace, love, and cake doughnuts,

thought of the day

Why do people run over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance? I do this waaay too often, mostly because the garbage can is too far in the next room :/

Showing passion through the camera lens

Here are two images I found of salsa dancers. The photographers were able to show the passion between the dancers. Very nice stuff here.

peace, love, and passion

James Dean

Very creative use of spacing, surreal and reality merging into one. The patterns/shapes seen in this shot are contrasting - striped shirt vs plain wood, square frame vs plain wall - giving the photograph something more to think about. James Dean's eyes are so mysterious, you just dont know what he is thinking, and the wooden doll gives the whole image the sense of an imaginary world.

Beautiful Photographs that include Mirrors

I found a whole bunch of photographs that showcase mirrors, creating a whole new sense of space and framing. Most of them are with well known actresses, but some are just beautiful people with a talented person behind the camera.

Ok so this last one does not include a mirror, but i thought it was such a gorgeous picture I just needed to add it in

hope you liked it

Dance Series

I have decided I am going to do a whole series of dance photography. I started out wanting to do just ballet, but I am a huge fan of contemporary, jazz, modern, and just about any other type out there. So I am expanding it to include everything. Today, I am showcasing ballet dancers from the Miami City Ballet, founded by Edward Villella. I saw a documentary of him once, and he was truly awe inspiring. He had amazing feet and very clean lines, especially on jumps. He started his career at the American Ballet and then onto the New York City Ballet. Dancers at Miami City Ballet are just as talented as he was, and if any of you watched this past season of So You Think You Can Dance (season 7), then you would have seen a member of their family, Alex Wong.

The Upper Room
During the performance of The Upper Room
Program IV
Look at the lines and angles created by these dancers, something photographers try to look for in nature, dancers can do by themselves!

Welcome to the dollhouse

I found this picture online somewhere, and it really piqued my interest. what I like about it is that it uses the sun as a natural light and surrounds the girls with a surrealistic glow. It has pictorialist influences, but it also reminds me of photographs by Lewis Carroll and Gertrude Kaseiber. There are also remnants of campy and showgirl influences, and reminds me of the Paris Hilton for Guess ads from 2008-2009 (except not so trampy). I dont know what it is about this picture that interests me so much, I will have to really investigate to find out.

If anyone know who took this picture and why, let me know!

Megan Fox and Shia LeBouf are beautiful together

I am a big fan of magazine photography, and the images that came out of this photoshoot are really amazing. I would have loved to be there while Megan and Shia were taking these pictures. They seem to really enjoy each others company, and they look quite comfortable.
Such a simpe photoshoot, yet it evokes so much about who they are. I would love to meet this photographer to see where he gets his magic, how he thinks about things.

anyways, I am sick and I want to sleep

Most Awesomest Friends Day 1

yesterday, I realized that many of my friends have dissapeared over the years. So I have decided to celebrate the friends that have stayed around and have stuck through it. I am slowly compiling a list of my most amazing and really great friends that have been there for me, have gotten ridiculously drunk with me, or just chilled with me.
So it begins...

Yesterday, I was fooling around on my laptop, when I stumbled onto this candid shot of David Beckham and his son. It is a far cry from the usual Beckham they show off in the tabloids and tv, and I love it. It is a great shot of a father and son having a good time while looking ridiculously handsome.
Look at how absolutely fabulous they both look! I love everything about it, the color palette, the different cloth materials, the way he put together the coat and suit together is not something I would have chosen, but it works quite well. It makes me smile

I love everything about this photo shoot

Not only is this the most magical and fantastical thing I have seen in the pages of Teen Vogue...ever, it showcases the amazing beauty that is Emma Watson. Its like a grown up fashion tea party, and I love it!
My favorite:
to see more images of this shoot, they are on stylefrizz and they are pretty amazing!
